Manager - Technical Services

Role Description 

This full-time position of Manager - Technical Services is a Hybrid/On-Site role based in Delhi-NCR, India. You as the Manager will oversee and manage technical service operations, providing troubleshooting and support related to client-specific needs in the Oil & Gas, Refinery, and Petrochemical sectors. This role involves leading technical support initiatives, conducting training programs for clients, and ensuring quality and efficiency in the delivery of services. Additionally, you will assess operational challenges, implement solutions, and maintain strong customer relationships.

Job Description

  • Provide technical services, troubleshooting, and operational support for refining Technology units, ensuring adherence to technical and safety standards.

  • Lead/assist in pre-commissioning & commissioning activities including PFD/P&ID reviews, HAZOP, inspections, interlock checks, start-up, and stabilization.

  • Evaluate unit performance through test runs, define operating parameters, analyze operating/lab data, and recommend optimization measures.

  • Conduct periodic site visits to monitor unit health, diagnose technical issues, and implement performance improvement recommendations.

  • Execute and supervise specialized technical procedures such as catalyst regeneration, unloading/loading, sulfiding, skimming, and shutdown/start-up activities.

  • Conduct technical training for client operating teams and perform process simulations using PRO-II/Aspen for equipment and process evaluation.

  • Prepare Technical Service agreements, maintain unit-wise technical databases, and coordinate with the Technical Services Department for customized solutions.

  • Represent PETRORIIFORM in technical forums and provide on-site technical services, including international assignments when required.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Engineers at PETRORIIFORM come from strong technical and operational backgrounds in refining and petrochemical industries. We welcome candidates from leading engineering institutes with hands-on exposure to refinery unit operations and process technologies.
 

Candidates for this role should have:
 

  • A B.Tech degree in Chemical Engineering or Petroleum Engineering

  • 1–4 years of experience in Petroleum Refinery Operations, Technical Services, or related process engineering roles

  • Strong understanding of refining and petrochemical unit operations, including shutdowns, commissioning, and start-up procedures

  • Knowledgeable of HAZOP methodology and plant safety practices

  • Ability to work with process design and simulation tools (e.g., PRO-II, Aspen) and interpret process data

  • Solid theoretical and practical knowledge of refining processes and unit performance troubleshooting

  • Familiarity with MS Block units (NHDT, Reforming, Isomerization, Gasoline Treatment)

  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for reporting and analysis

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex process data and propose actionable improvements

  • Adaptability to field conditions, willingness to travel, and ability to work in dynamic operating environments

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional and client teams

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, accuracy, and technical excellence

  • Each stage of the process includes a technical interview focused on real refinery scenarios, troubleshooting cases, or commissioning/start-up situations you may encounter in this role.

  • Candidates will be assessed on their understanding of refining processes, process safety, operations, and analytical thinking, often using examples from actual client engagements.

  • Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a practical assessment or simulation exercise.

  • The final stage is an important discussion with senior leadership, including higher management, directors, and top executives. It focuses on evaluating your technical fit, motivation, field-readiness, and long-term career aspirations.
